I imagine this is what it looked like when FTV burned the books on the beach in Wilson.

Dear Jamie,
I was completely in shock when I read about the book burning by the FTV group. I couldn't believe that a group of people would find it appropriate to protest books in that manner. I agree with you that it is a form of free speech, but I still think that burning someone's thoughts should be illegal. We've been talking about your story in class and I feel bad that Nomi can't accept that you have a different point of view than her and that she thought about supporting the book burning. I really hope those book weren't the books that came from the public library. What if I wanted to read those books? I have the right to educate myself despite what others think is appropriate for me to know.
I look forward to reading more of your story.
Kate
